Bridgend College is a Senior College or
The Bridgend campus comprises a wide
variety of infrastructure and the College
Bursar purchases energy in a range of forms
to ensure the provision of space heating, hot
water and electric lighting as well as power
and process gas for use in the science
laboratories and workshops.
Both full and part-time education courses
are available at Bridgend College and, in
particular, specialist training courses and
modern apprenticeships in engineering
disciplines have been established on a
partnership basis to cater for the needs of
the blue chip industries located within the
college catchment area.

College campus is the Resource Centre and
Social Care Building. The provision of space
heating and hot water services to this building
are met by two coal-fired Sectional Boilers
fired by Earlymil Stokers. By burning Tower
anthracite grains at combustion efficiencies
in excess of 80%, these boilers provide a cost
effective solution to year round energy
requirements and the low sulphur and ash
content of Tower coals provides an
environmentally clean atmosphere both
inside and outside the boiler house.
