Aberdare College

Aberdare College was built in the 1950's - the
first phase of development comprising a
two storey teaching block and canteen buildings.
Subsequent developments included engineering
workshops in the 1960's and further D and E Blocks
in the 1970's.

In this time, the college has provided a range of
courses to suit the changing requirements of
industry and commerce in the locality.

The college has also developed a fine reputation in
Food Technology, Hospitality and Catering

The Llewellyn Suite Restaurant provides hands-on
work experience in catering for the public on
certain evenings of the week.

"Outreach" Courses enable the College to provide
a range of subjects to those who cannot attend the
campus headquarters at Cwmdare.

     Technical Details

Space heating and hot water services to the
5000sq.m of teaching space are provided by a
central coal-fired boiler plant.

Tower fuel offers exceptionally good value for
money with significant savings against other fuels
on the market.

environmental legislation and, the lengthy life
expectancy of Tower coal will assure a source of
