In this time, the college has provided a range of
courses to suit the changing requirements of
industry and commerce in the locality. Originally
offering courses and craft apprenticeship training
for the local mining industry, the college has since
developed specialised courses in Business
Administration; Health and Social Care; Information
Technology; Sport Leisure & Tourism and
Engineering - as well as general education to GCSE
and A Level standard.
The college has also developed a fine reputation in
Food Technology, Hospitality and Catering where
in addition to classroom and kitchen facilities, the
Llewellyn Suite Restaurant provides hands-on
work experience in catering for the public on
certain evenings of the week.
The college is an active participant in the Modern
Apprenticeship Scheme with courses designed
on a partnership basis with local employers. In
addition, "Outreach" Courses at Mountain Ash,
Hirwaun, Ynysybwl, Ponsticill and elsewhere
enable the College to provide a range of subjects
to those who cannot attend the campus
headquarters at Cwmdare.

with weather compensating controls and fuel and

current and future environmental legislation and,
