FROM NIGEL REES

REVISED 18 January 2012

The BBC Radio quiz Quote ... Unquote has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in the United Kingdom since 1976.  Devised and introduced by myself, the programme has become something of an institution and the world of Quote ... Unquote now encompasses a substantial archive of material concerning quotations and ‘well-known phrases and sayings’ of many types.  When the programme is not on the air, searching for ‘lost’ quotations and for the origins of phrases and sayings is undertaken in The “Quote ... Unquote” Newsletter and through this website.

Series 48 will be recorded during May 2012 and broadcast in July/August.  More details in due course.  For more information and photos, see BROADCAST NEWS.  Details, too, of our signature tune.

The January 2012 issue of the Newsletter is now available – free – as an e-mail-attached PDF.  To be put on the e-mailing list go to HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH “QUOTE ... UNQUOTE”.
